Biography

Carlos Delgado-Torres holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Barcelona, and a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Meteorology and Geophysics from the Complutense University of Madrid. During his years at the university, he did internships at the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET), Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA) and eltiempo.es. He joined the BSC in June 2019 to do his Master's thesis on the predictability of Euro-Atlantic weather regimes on inter-annual to decadal timescales. After finishing the MSc, he worked as a software developer for some months in the private sector before returning to the BSC. Carlos joined the Earth System Services and Climate Prediction groups to develop his PhD thesis on decadal climate prediction and predictability for climate services. He visited the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) of Columbia University for his PhD stay.
