More than 40 companies gathered in the 2nd Conference on Taxation and Financing, co-organized by BSC

Attendees found out the possibilities that supercomputing offers to improve the competitiveness of their companies

On November 28th, Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) held the 2nd Conference on Taxation and Financing of R&D activities, jointly organized with KLB Group. More than 40 representatives of companies from various industrial sectors attended the event to learn everything about tax deductions, social security bonuses, Patent Box and public purchase for their R&D activities.

Josep Maria Martorell, BSC Associate Director, opened the session explaining BSC’s objectives. Then, BSC Technology Transfer Manager, Anna Escoda, shared inspiring success stories and described how BSC collaborates with companies. Attendees were able to enrich themselves with all the possibilities offered by supercomputing to improve the competitiveness of their companies.

Ángel Pérez, General Secretary of Business Innovation at MEIC (Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness of the Spanish Government), presented these tax incentives, pointing out aspects such as eligibility and procedures, as well as his own experience as evaluator. In addition, Pérez stressed the importance of counting with experts who can advise and support companies, encouraging all attendees to benefit from these aids.

Francisco Javier Palomino and Tamara Reyes, from KLB Group, experts in tax and financial incentives, explained how they develop the identification and implementation process in their consultancy company, and how they support companies to maximize the fiscal return of their projects, investments and/or activities.

Ana Gómez (Damm Group) was in charge of the last intervention, focusing on the experience of her company, which has been applying these incentives for more than ten years, as well as on its collaboration with KLB Group. Gómez stressed that all R&D projects are eligible for these benefits, even if they do not conclude successfully.
