Objectives

Abstract: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change was created in 1988 to facilitate comprehensive assessments of the state of scientific, technical, and socioeconomic knowledge on climate change, its causes, potential impacts, and response strategies. The IPCC finalized the Synthesis Report for the Sixth Assessment Report during the Panel's 58th Session held in Interlaken, Switzerland from 13 - 19 March 2023. This Report synthesizes the findings of three Special Reports: Global Warming of 1.5 °C; Climate Change and Land; and Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate, as well as one Report per working group: The Physical Science Basis; Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability; and Climate Change Mitigation. This talk highlights some of the key findings of the Sixth Assessment Report and invites the audience to dialogue about climate change and IPCC.
