More than 300 people attended the award ceremony of the First Sesé Foundation Awards, in the Sala de la Corona of the Pignatelli Building, headquarters of the Government of Aragon. These awards, created on the occasion of its tenth anniversary, recognise people, projects, companies and entities in the categories of Talent, Commitment and Alliances. In this first edition, the director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS), Mateo Valero, the Saica Group and the brothers Miguel and Prudencio Indurain received awards. The gala was attended by Jorge Azcón, President of the Government of Aragon, Pilar Alegría, Minister of Education and Vocational Training and Natalia Chueca, Mayoress of Zaragoza.
Mateo Valero, PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, professor and researcher, and director of the BSC, received the Talent 2023 award for his brilliant career and international projection, and his commitment to his homeland. Valero was moved: "I have been lucky enough to receive many distinctions in my professional career. The ones I have received from Aragon also value my person and my way of being in a very special way, and I learnt all this here, from you. Talent must be discovered, nurtured and pampered, but effort is fundamental. And you must always try to be happy and make others happy".
The Sesé Awards, of an annual nature, aim to recognise and encourage the work, in different areas, of people, projects, companies and entities with a high impact. They are born in Aragon with an international vocation and do so in 2023, with a vocation for the future. The award is represented by a bronze sculpture by the Zaragoza artist Javier Alonso Márquez.
Alfonso Sesé, president of Sesé and vice-president of the Sesé Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the work and social impact of the award winners "The Sesé Foundation has become the most visible form of our company's commitment to social transformation. We are proud to be able to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this Foundation and to be part of the evolution of the projects that, every day, generate opportunities for people with disabilities and in vulnerable situations. The awards that we have presented today are a true reflection of the spirit and soul with which our Foundation was born and which drives us to continue improving".
About Sesé Foundation
Fundación Sesé was founded in 2013 by siblings Ana and Alfonso Sesé, with the aim of generating social and employment development opportunities for people with disabilities and in situations of social vulnerability. "At Fundación Sesé we are proud to have fulfilled, in these first ten years, our purpose of improving the lives of people, especially those who need it most. It is our way of giving back to society a part of what it gives us". This is how Ana Sesé, president of the Foundation, expressed her commitment to continue working as she has done up to now and her joy at having celebrated these ten years.
