Biography

Marta Terrado is a senior researcher in the Earth Sciences department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center in Spain, where she co-leads the Knowledge Integration team working to bridge the gap between science and society. She received her PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Barcelona in 2009. Her research interests include human-environment relationships with a particular focus on climate change, environmental issues and societal implications. Recently, she has focused on the application of innovative tools for science communication and dissemination, stakeholder engagement and knowledge co-production to facilitate understanding and uptake of climate and environmental services.

She led the communication, dissemination and user engagement activities in the H2020 projects APPLICATE (727862) and MED-GOLD (776467), and the Copernicus Climate Change Service C3S_429g (Press Data Portal for journalists). Currently, she is the co-coordinator of the Horizon Europe project ASPECT (101081460) and part of the coordination team of the HE Climateurope2 project (101056933). She is also the principal investigator of the EU-PolarNet2 project ArcticXchange (101003766), the EU-funded ICEBERG project, and the seasonal hurricane predictions contract sponsored by AXA XL.
