Computing Frontiers

Target group: The seminar was aimed primarily at college students and young researchers, to offer them an overview of various issues related to computing R&D in Spain since the main intention is to provide a better selection criteria on the topics they would like to work and which professional fields they could choose. Besides it would provide a useful feedback to the speakers since they would be able to contact current students and thus, learn their main interest and doubts.

In July 2011 the seminar Computing Frontiers was co-organised by the University of Zaragoza, and the RES. The seminar was aimed to college students and young researchers in order to offer them an overview of various issues related to computing in which there are R&D projects in Spain. The choice of speakers provided a transversal and multidisciplinary view of deep computing, covering topics such as biocomputing, nanoscience, safety and prevention, cosmology or robotics among others, and considering that included leading researchers working in both public research organizations and companies.
