This week BSC is hosting the MaATEO 2022 Workshop and the ACM Europe Summer School on HPC Computer Architectures for AI and Dedicated Applications

An intense week at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) with the celebration of two activities that have managed to bring together some of the most internationally recognized researchers in the field of computer architecture and artificial intelligence.

MATEO 2022

On the one hand, BSC and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech (UPC) organize the MATEO 2022 Workshop - Multi-core architectures and their effective operation. A large number of representatives from the area of computer architecture have appeared at this congress, held on the 70th anniversary of the director of the BSC, Mateo Valero.

The congress starts today and will finish tomorrow. There will be two days of talks and reunions with researchers such as Yale Patt, from the University of Texas, Jaime Moreno, from IBM T.J. Watson, and Peter Hofstee, from IBM Austin, among many others.

ACM Europe Summer School

Another event that is taking place these days at BSC is the ACM Europe Summer School on HPC Computer Architectures for AI and Dedicated Applications.

The activity is organized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) together with BSC and the UPC and is aimed at young researchers and computer engineers, outstanding master's students and final year undergraduate students.

In total, more than 50 students of 26 different nationalities participate and have the opportunity to attend conferences given by international experts in the field of computer architecture and artificial intelligence.

The two acts will converge tomorrow, Friday, putting an end to an intense week that opened the new course after the holidays.
