A group of Samsung senior engineers leaded by the Vice-president JS Choi visited today the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS).
The BSC-CNS and Samsung collaborate on Mont-Blanc project, which aims to develop a full energy-efficient HPC prototype using low-power commercially available embedded technology. During the visit, the Mont-Blanc engineers presented to JS Choi, Head of Samsung global DRAM/DRAM module design, and to the rest of the team, the future architecture of the Mont-Blanc prototype to be deployed by 2014.
The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the excellent relationship with the South Korean company. To this aim the BSC Directors introduced to the Samsung engineers other BSC’s leading research projects. The meeting ended up with a visit to the supercomputer MareNostrum.
