BSC expands the number of sessions and recovers the pre-pandemic format at the Bojos per la Supercomputació

18 January 2023
The 2023 course will practically recover the format of the first two programs. A total of 17 sessions make up the proposal of the current Bojos per la Supercomputació.

The Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) will kick off the fifth edition of Bojos per la Supercomputació next Friday, January 20, with a visit to its supercomputing infrastructures aimed at the 25 students that make up this year's program.

Unlike the last two editions in which the calendar had to be reduced due to the pandemic, the 2023 course will practically recover the format of the first two programs. A total of 17 sessions make up the proposal of the current Bojos per la Supercomputació, which once again has two days of quantum computing and parallelism.

Simulations, artificial intelligence, neural networks, climate change, genomics, drug analysis and sustainable mobility are the other areas that make up this fifth edition, the first part of which will end in mid-April and will return in mid-October.

Bojos per la Supercomputació is one of the 13 Bojos per la Ciència programs offered by the Fundació Catalunya la Pedrera to give Catalan students in their first year of high school, with aptitudes in the field of science, the opportunity to delve into theory and scientific techniques from different areas. For the BSC, Bojos per la Supercomputació is important as it strengthens the center's commitment to dissemination activities, which focus on making known "who we are and what we do, what supercomputers are and how they work, as well as showing the types of research that can be carried out with them”.
