Context And Mission
 
The Workflows and Distributed Computing group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center aims at carrying out research on programming models for distributed computing. In the framework of the project Tango, the group is working on the extension of the PyCOMPSs parallel programming model to support collections in the detection of the data dependencies. This will allow an easier development of parallel applications. For this research, the group department is offering a full-time contract for a junior research engineer.
 
Key Duties
 
  • Extension of PyCOMPSs to support data collections
  • Development of use cases to demonstrate the development
  • Test of the use cases in computing infrastructures
 
Requirements
 
  • Education
    • Computer engineering grade (Bachelor or Master degree)
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
    • Good programming skills in Python and Java
    • Skills on runtime or system programming
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
    • Distributing computing knowledge
  • Competences
    • Good level of English
 
Conditions
 
  • The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department

  • Duration: Temporary - 6 months renewable
