Context And Mission

The Memory systems team from the Computer Science Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is offering a full-time research engineer position. The researcher will work on the collaborative project between BSC and Micron technology that analyses in-memory processing for high-performance computing. We strongly encourage the application of candidates who are interested in close collaboration with industry and contact with cutting edge technology developers.

Key Duties

  • Characterization of memory behavior of HPC’s applications
  • Analysis and simulation of novel in-memory processor architecture, protocols and interfaces
  • Writing technical papers and dissemination of the project results


  • Education
    • MSc in Computer Science
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
    • Knowledge of computer architecture
    • Skills in programming languages (C/C++, Python)
    • Experience with Unix/Linux environments
    • Understanding of memory systems and memory technologies (e.g. DRAM, RLDRAM)
    • Experience with hardware/system simulators (e.g. ZSim, DRAMSim2)
  • Competences
    • Fluency in English is essential
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to take the initiative


  • The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department

  • Duration: Temporary - 31/12/2023 renewable
