The Data and Diagnostics Team (DDT), in which the position is located, has developed over the years a suite of R packages used by the scientists of the department to perform their analysis and verify the simulations over observations and reanalysis, from subseasonal to decadal time scales, from the load of the data to the computation of the diagnostics and scores and the visualization.

The successful applicant will join the team to contribute to the development and computational optimization of R packages linking climate and and health data in decision-support models,, in collaboration with the department’s Global Health Resilience (GHR) team. The mission of the GHR team is to apply a transdisciplinary approach to co-designing policy-relevant methodological solutions, to enhance surveillance, preparedness and response to climate-sensitive disease outbreaks and emergence. In close collaboration with stakeholders and R tool users, the successful applicant will participate in different projects operating in Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean to develop the R data analysis packages and functions needed.
