Software & Hardware - Licensable
One of the most important outputs of the research carried out at BSC is software and applications.
Our software ranges from programming models such as OmpSs and PyCOMPSs which help programmers to use massively parallel systems; to performance tools like Paraver and Dimemas which give insight into how efficiently highly parallel systems are being used; to high performance codes for multiphysics, volcanic ash transport, seismic imaging, social simulation and more. In the field of Earth Sciences, BSC has developed the NMMB/BSC Chemical Transport Model and the CALIOPE system for high-resolution short-term air quality forecasts for Europe. In Life Sciences, codes include Smufin for genomics, pyDock for protein interactions and PELE for protein structure prediction. Most of BSC's software is Open Source and can be downloaded for free.
