The following accommodation options offer special prices during the conference.  Please refer to “ESSA 2014” when making a reservation.

1. At Bellaterra Campus (15’ walk from the Venue)

The organization has secured a number of rooms for the attendants at the Hotel Campus**** and in the Vila Universitària (University´s Hall of residence). Both are located in the Campus, just 15 minutes away from the conference Venue, and also it has an excellent train connection to Barcelona centre (20’).

2. At Cerdanyola del Vallès (30’ walk, or 5’ by bus from the Venue)

There is a couple of humble but decent hotels in Cerdanyola del Vallès, the small town where the UAB Campus is located. The town is connected with the campus by bus, or by a nice 30min walk.

3. Barcelona (20-35’ by train from the Venue)

The UAB Bellaterra Campus, where the conference and related events take place, is located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, 20 Km. from the centre of Barcelona, and it is well connected by train and buses. A ride in the FCG (Ferrocarils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) takes about 35 minutes from the very centre of Barcelona (Pza. Catalunya) to the train station located in the UAB Campus (Universitat Autònoma) on “blue” line S2 or S55.

Of course, all around Barcelona is plenty of accommodation, but it is also a main touristic destination. You could find some trouble seeking for accommodation for the first week of september: The sunny weather, the excellent food, the exciting street and cultural life, and the European Society of Cardiology Meeting will not facilitate the task.

4. Sabadell (10’ by train from the Venue)

Sabadell is near the UAB Campus as well, but in the opposite side of Barcelona. Once it was the origin and the center of the Catalan textile industry and the Industrial Revolution, and today is a place with a beautiful industrial heritage and many services. A journey of just 15 minutes joins our campus with some hotels in this city.
