Share this event on Twitter | Hashtag #TrBioinf18 This meeting follows on from the success of the European Conference on Translational Bioinformatics (ECTB) series hold in 2016 at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark; and in 2017 at the European Bioinformatics Institute, UK. As in past editions, the 2018 meeting will bring together scientists, developers, and entrepreneurs who are interested in translating genomics and bioinformatics research into healthcare tools and services. Advances in genomics and the availability of big data are beginning to transform the healthcare landscape. Bioinformaticians are playing a unique role in this transformation by developing tools that improve data acquisition, curation and interpretation. This meeting will highlight recent advances in the...
Barcelona Supercomputing Centre (UPC Campus Nord premises). :
    17 Apr 2018 - 09:00 to 19 Apr 2018 - 17:00
The workshop will feature sessions on these seven central topics: Applications and mini-apps Parallel Programming models and runtime Performance tools Resilience Big Data, I/O and in-situ visualization Numerical methods and algorithms Advanced architectures In addition, dedicated sessions on computational fluid dynamics, computational biology and climate/weather research are planned. A key objective of the workshop is to identify new research collaborations and establish a roadmap for their implementation. The workshop is open to Illinois, INRIA, ANL, BSC, JSC, Riken AICS and UTK ICL faculties, researchers, engineers and students who want to learn more about Post-Petascale / Pre-Exascale Computing. ICCS2018, Wuxi, China, 11-13 June 2018 (https://www.iccs-meeting.org/iccs2018/) :
    11 Jun 2018 - 09:00 to 13 Jun 2018 - 17:00
The workshop aims to serve as a forum for Computational Scientists to discuss the mathematical and algorithmic challenges and approaches towards increasingly larger systems. Key science applications using HPC systems require novel mathematics and mathematical modelling approaches together with scalable scientific algorithms. This is especially true as HPC systems continue to scale up in compute node and processor core count. These novel mathematical methods can lead to scalable scientific algorithms which can hide network and memory latency, have very high computation/communication overlap and minimal communication and fewer synchronization points. The workshop solicits strategic and position papers presenting Domain Applications and Case Studies in the context of the...

Problems with uncertainty need to be tackled in an increasing variety of areas ranging from problems in physics, chemistry, engineering, computational biology and environmental sciences to decision making in economics and social sciences. Uncertainty is unavoidable in almost all systems analysis, in risk analysis, in decision making and modelling and simulation. How uncertainty is handled and quantified shapes the integrity of the analysis, and the correctness and credibility of the solution and the results. With the advent of exascale computing larger and larger problems have to be tackled in a systematic way and the problem of solving such problems with uncertainties and quantifying the uncertainties becomes even more important due to the variety and scale of uncertainties in such...
