Our goal is to analyze education related best practices and their impact on motivation to learn. Special attention is given to the development of evaluation based on learning outcomes.

“Learning analytics is the measurement, collection, analysis and reporting of data about learners and their contexts, for purposes of understanding and optimizing learning and the environments in which it occurs.” (1st International Conference on Learning Analytics & Knowledge) The president of the Society for Learning Analytics, Dragan Gašević (University of Edinburgh), in his 16 June 2015 interview (http://solaresearch.org/) describes the main focus of the research area is not only in developing accurate techniques for student success and retention prediction but also in using the data analysis to build strategies to improve study skills.

To name but few directions in which we are working:

  • Using Learning Analytics to improve motivation to learn and develop evaluation based on learning outcomes
  • Design of tools for training course and program evaluation, accounting for the Signal-to-Noise ratio
  • Impact analysis of professional training curriculum and teaching methods
  • Developing HPC professional training and postgraduate education KPIs based on learning outcomes
