Objectives

Abstract: The lecture will overview the experimental and modelling activities of TROPOS (Leibniz-Insititut für Troposphärenforschung, https://www.tropos.de/). TROPOS is one of the reference groups in Europe on dust research.

Short bio: Ina Tegen heads the Department ‘Modelling of Atmospheric Processes’ at the Leibniz Institute for Troposheric Reseach in Leipzig (Germany). She is also a professor at the Leipzig Institute for Meteorology at the University of Leipzig.  She is specialized in numerical modelling of tropospheric aerosol distribution and impacts at regional and global scales. In particular, she has advanced the field of model-based analysis of mineral dust aerosol including investigating the controls on dust emission and transport as well as the role of natural and anthropogenic dust on the Earth's radiation budget.
