Oriol Lehmkuhl  senior researcher at the Department of Computer Applications in Science and Engineering (CASE) of BSC. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics by Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona. Dr Lehmkuhl leads the Large-scale Computational Fluid Dynamics group in BSC. His main research interests are related to turbulence modelling, multi-phase modelling, high-performance computing, Multiphysics & multi-scale modelling, aerodynamic simulations and bio-mechanical modelling. He has been the co-director of 13 PhD theses (six of them on-going) and 2 master theses, is author of 79 papers in JCR journals (h-index 28), with more than 200 contributions to peer-reviewed international conferences and 4 patents. As a result of this research activity Dr. Lehmkuhl has built a strong research network including different Universities (i.e Stanford University, University of Stuttgart, University of Southampton, Queen's University, etc.),Research Institutes (i.e Center of Turbulence Research, Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, etc.) and companies (i.e AlstomWind, Envision Energy, Total, Gas Natural, Snecma, Liebherr, Abengoa Solar, Fagor, HP, Seat, etc.). In addition, Dr. Lehmkuhl has been involved in 18 national and EU financially supported projects (1 coordinated CleanSky2) focused on the development of HPC CFD codes (FP6, FP7, H2020 and CleanSky) and has been participant of 25 High Performance Computing research projects of the Spanish Supercomputer Network (RES), 4 Tier-0 PRACE HPC projects and 1 INCITE project at Argonne.
