Biography

Concerning my education, I obtained the M.SC. in Mathematics and Applications at the University of Camerino in April 2012, with a thesis on General Relativity. Then, from October 2012 to March 2016, I was granted with a Ph.D. Fellowship by the International Center for Relativistic Astrophysics Network (ICRANet), at the University of Rome, "La Sapienza" and the University of Campus Bio-Medico in Rome. During this period I studied the numerical methods for obtaining configurations of equilibrium of rapidly rotating Neutron Stars, both in Newtonian and General Relativity.

After obtaining the Ph.D., I started a series of work experiences, both in Academy and in Private Companies. In April 2016 I was hired for six-months as Research Collaborator with the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome, at the Instituto per le Applicazioni del Calcolo "Mauro Picone", with the objectives of contributing to the development of the simulation of the Magnetic Field in an HPC Fortran code for the simulation of the electrospinning industrial process. In January 2017, I was hired by the Sigma S.p.a. company in Monterubbiano (FM), Italy, with a fixed-term (36 months) apprenticeship as a Research Technician for the Industrialization Process. In April 2018, I was hired as a (2-years) PostDoc by the Trento Institute for Fundamental Physics and Applications at the Italian Institute for Nuclear Physics (TIFPA - INFN), for supporting the development of a new code HPC in General Relativistic Magnetohydrodynamics (GRMHD) for simulations of Binary Neutron Stars (BNS) and Binary Black Holes (BBH) mergers. In April 2020, I was hired as a (2+1-years) PostDoc by the Center for Computational Relativity and Gravitation at the Rochester Institute of Technology (CCRG - RIT), via the NASA TCAN 80NSSC18K1488 grant, for contributing to the research activities in GRMHD for improving the methodologies of BNS and BBH simulations in HPC. In April 2021, I was hired as a (3+2-years) Research Fellow at the Leonardo HPC Labs in Genova, Italy, for contributing in the research activities of the Leonardo Company in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), HPC and Cloud.

All across the above experiences, my primary objectives were always to apply Maths and Physics modeling to concrete problems and find a way to effectively solve them. Since January 2023, I serve as R3 - Established Researcher for the Fusion Group of the CASE Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Here, I am trying to contribute to the research activities of the group bringing my experience in HPC, coding, numerical modelingNuclear Physics, and MHD in the field of Nuclear Fusion.
