The air quality forecast system for Spain (CALIOPE), developed at Earth Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), operationally provides air quality forecast for Europe and Spain at high spatial and temporal resolutions using a set of models: the HERMES emission model, WRF-ARW meteorological model, BSC-DREAM8b model, and CMAQ chemical transport model, all together running at the MareNostrum supercomputer. The system has been funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (441/2006/3-12.1, and 157/PC08/3-12.0 A357/2007/2-12.1).
